6 Year Old Girl Shot in Arm, Police Make Arrest

Mobile police have arrested the man who fired shots into a home last night shooting a little girl. Eric Blackledge Jr., 23, has been charged with second-degree assault and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

On Monday, October 16, 2017 at approximately 8:45 p.m. police responded to the 900 block of South Scott Street in reference to one shot. Upon arrival, officers found the 6-year-old female victim with a gunshot to her arm. Mobile Fire-Rescue transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.

Witnesses stated two males were in an argument and one began firing shots at the other. Several bullets entered the residence. One of the bullets struck the victim while she was in the living room of the residence. 

Update 10/19/17: The second suspect, 25-year-old Charles Berryhill, involved was arrested today. Berryhill is charged with second-degree assault and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
