On Friday, November 24, 2023, at approximately 11:41 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Dauphin Island Parkway. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim, Mr. Joe Henderson, 43 years old, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Mr. Henderson was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Shortly after the incident, investigators identified Jamal Hicks, 22 years old, as the suspect, and apprehended him. He has been charged with murder and transported to Metro Jail.
