Joaquin Jones, 27, was found connected to the homicide that occurred at the 7200 block of 3rd Street on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at approximately 2:42 a.m. Jones was arrested and charged with murder. The victim, 50-year-old Myron King, was found down in the front yard of the location. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The homicide that occurred Saturday, May 9, 2020 at approximately 12:27 p.m. under the Highway 90 Bridge (3400 Government Blvd.) involving an altercation between three homeless individuals will be presented to a grand jury. The investigation revealed that during the altercation, a man produced a knife and cut the woman. In the woman’s defense, the other man struck him multiple times causing his death.
Joshua Lamont-Jamal Kennedy, 27, was arrested and charged with murder in the homicide that occurred Sunday, May 10, 2020 at approximately 4:22 a.m. in area of Kooiman Street and Blackmon Street. Through further investigation, investigators identified a second suspect, Winfred Stallworth, 59. Stallworth was arrested on May 21, 2020 and also charged with murder. Officers had found the victim, 42-year-old Nikil Merrida, lying in the street deceased.
Titianna Shelton, 34, is charged with murder after investigators identified her as the shooter in the homicide that occurred at John’s Seafood, 1150 Springhill Ave. The incident occurred Sunday, May 10, 2020 at approximately 5:48 p.m. Klintaveus Thompson, 19, was shot during a verbal dispute, and he died as a result of his injury.
Police need the public’s help to solve the homicide that occurred at the Pride Gas Station, 1910 St. Stephens Road, on Sunday, May 10 at approximately 8:24 p.m. Anyone with information regarding the homicide is asked to contact police.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 28-year-old man, later identified as Ricky Kidd, and a 26-year-old man had both been transported to the hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds. Kidd died as a result of his injury. The 26 year old is expected to survive.
