Caitlyn Austin honored as the Civilian Employee of the Month

Aug 13th, 2024

The Mobile Police Department is proud to recognize Caitlyn Austin as the Civilian Employee of the Month for July 2024. Austin serves as a community resource officer (CRO) in the Assaults/Missing Person Unit. She is commended for taking on the extra workload to fulfill the task of completing walk-in reports and doing callbacks.

Normally, there is a team of 3-4 people who is responsible for completing walk-in reports and doing callbacks on misdemeanor cases. However, during the month of July, staff was transferred, and another employee was on sick leave. That left just Austin to handle the entire workload.

On average, Austin makes 200-300 misdemeanor callbacks a month. She eagerly took on the additional responsibilities and didn’t skip a beat. She managed her time very well to complete the workload including completing the daily police reports.

According to her supervisor, Austin is a valued member of the team. She always has a smile on her face and does everything she can to assist the citizens of Mobile.
