Cody Wood Arrested for String of Commercial Robberies

Through a joint investigation, the Mobile County Sheriff's Office and the Mobile Police Department arrested 26-year-old Cody Wood on December 16, 2015 for committing seven commercial robberies in the city and county of Mobile. Wood was charged with seven counts of Robbery First Degree.

Nine days after Wood was released from prison serving a 7-year sentence for commercial robbery, he began committing the commercial robberies at the following stores over a two-week span. Three occurred in the city and four in the county.

• Chevron — 7000 Three Notch Road (twice)
• Clark — 8501 Old Pascagoula Road
• Grand Bay Food Mart — 13320 Hwy 90
• Shell — 1 Creel Road
• Texaco — 10178-B Old Pascagoula Road

Authorities located Wood at the house of Amanda Stapleton, 29, who was hiding Wood in her house. Stapleton is charged with Hindering Prosecution First Degree, which is a felony.

Additionally, authorities arrested Erica Dueitt, 28, who confessed to driving Wood on five of the seven robberies. Dueitt is charged with five counts of Robbery First Degree.
