Dr. Martin Luther King 2016 March Route

The MPD Traffic Safety Unit will assist with the Dr. Martin Luther King March on Monday, January 18. The Traffic Safety Unit will escort marchers and direct traffic at intersections surrounding the route.
The march will begin at 12 p.m. on Lyons Street at Broad Street and will travel north on Broad Street to Dr. Martin Luther King Avenue; west on Dr. Martin Luther King Avenue to Lafayette Street; south on Lafayette Street to Springhill Avenue; west on Springhill Avenue to Catherine Street and then disband.
The event organizer, People United to Advance the Dream, will host a gathering following the march at Lyons Park until 5 p.m. During this time, officers will provide traffic control around the park.
Catherine Street between Center Street and Old Shell Road will be closed during this event.
