Fallen Officer Sean Tuder: New Detail and Ways to Pay Tribute

Jan 23rd, 2019

Through investigation, it has been determined that the weapon used in the fatal shooting of Officer Sean Tuder was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The vehicle burglary occurred just a few days prior to the shooting.

Furthermore, for clarification purposes, Officer Tuder was familiar with the suspect, 19-year-old Marco Perez, as his unit had been looking for him for two weeks. However, there is no evidence to suggest that there had been any previous direct contact between Officer Tuder and Perez before the shooting.

To give the public opportunity to extend their condolences and pay tribute, the Mobile Police Department will have Officer Tuder’s patrol car parked in front of police headquarters (2460 Government Blvd.) on Thursday, Jan. 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In paying tribute to fallen Officer Tuder, the public may leave flowers and prayer cards.
