FRIDAY NIGHT DRIVER’S LICENSE/ DUI SAFETY CHECKPOINT TOTALS

On January 9, 2009, The Mobile Police Department conducted city-wide Driver's License and DUI Safety checkpoints at various intersections throughout the department's jurisdiction.

Police checked a total of 1,498 vehicles. In total the operation resulted in 386 citations issued to drivers with a majority of those being issued for No Insurance and Driver's License violations. 13 vehicles were towed and one handgun was recovered during the operation. A total of 16 misdemeanors and 1 Felony Arrest was made. These arrests included Traffic Attachments, Driving under the Influence, and Possession of Controlled Substance offenses.
