FRIDAY NIGHT SAFETY CHECKPOINT TOTALS

On Friday, April 3, 2009, the Mobile Police Department conducted Safety Checkpoints at the intersection of St. Stephens Road and St. Charles Avenue. In total, the operation resulted in 99 traffic citations issued to drivers with a majority of those being issued for No Insurance (71) and No Driver's License/ Expired Driver's License (22). The remaining citations were issued to drivers for Suspended/ Revoked/ Canceled Driver's Licenses (3), Improper Tag (2), and No Safety Belt (1).

A total of 4 Misdemeanor and 1 Felony arrests were made, and two vehicles were towed during the operation.
