FURNISHING ALCOHOL TO MINORS

On December 4, 2008, the Mobile Police Department continued its fight against underage drinking by conducting another Underage Drinking Compliance Check. This is the first check for the month of December. Ten businesses were checked, seven businesses were in compliance with the law and three businesses were not. In compliance.

The businesses in compliance were:

Benton's Chevron, 5561 Old Pascagoula Road

Mobile Expressway, 5590 Old Pascagoula Road

The Red Hat Package Store, 6150 Old Pascagoula Road

Bassengers Quick Stop, 6880 Old Pascagoula Road

Zippy Mart, 5936 Three Notch Road

Corner Quick Stop #1, 4863 Gold Mine Road

Rite Aid #7121, 2420 Dawes Road

The businesses NOT in compliance were:

Ike's Food Mart, 5590 Old Pascagoula Road

Minute Stop #163, 6225 Three Notch Road

Circle K # 6761 Cottage Hill Road

The employee at Ike's Food mart did not check the buyer's identification. The employees at Minute Stop and Circle K did check the buyer's identification but sold the alcohol anyway. Warrants will be signed against these employees tomorrow for Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor. These Compliance checks will continue as the Department strives for all businesses to comply with the law.
