We welcomed the Gulf Coast Brotherhood Ride to Mobile yesterday afternoon as they continue their journey to Baton Rouge. The nearly 500-mile bicycle ride is dedicated to honoring the memory of first responders who have paid the ultimate price in the line of duty. Locally, Port Police Officer Kimberly Sickafoose died last year while on duty at the Alabama State Docks.
By riding bicycles across Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, the Gulf Coast Brotherhood Ride aims to show family, friends and departments that we will never forget the lives lost. The ride began Monday in north Alabama and will end on Friday in Baton Rouge.
In addition to honoring their memories, the ride raises funds to financially support the families, as well.
The Mobile Police Department thanks each of you for participating in such a great cause!
