On Sunday, January 7, 2024, at approximately 11:14 p.m., officers responded to 4384 Government Boulevard, the Beverly Motel, in response to reports of gunshots being fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 27-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound in one of the motel rooms. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim’s name will be released pending notification of next of kin. This is an active homicide investigation, and no further details will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the ongoing inquiry.

***Update*** The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Creston Marks.
During the course of the investigation, 25-year-old Rosevelt Richardson was identified as the suspect. On January 8, 2024, he was arrested and charged with murder, as well as certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.
