On Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at approximately 10:08 p.m. officers responded to the 1500 block of Van Dorn Street in reference to one shot. Officers located 38-year-old Corey Young inside the residence suffering from a single gunshot wound. Mobile Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced Young deceased.
The elderly victim stated his son Young attacked him with a knife. During the attack, the victim obtained his handgun and fired a shot, fatality wounding Young.
This case will be presented to the grand jury.
