On Sunday, October 7, 2018 at approximately 9:57 p.m., police responded to the 300 block of Michigan Avenue in reference to one shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Vanessa Thompson suffering from a gunshot wound. Thompson was transported to the hospital where she died as a result of her injuries. One person, a male subject, was detained but no arrest has been made in connection with this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
