Man Shot Over Alabama vs. Auburn Football Argument

Mobile police have arrested 28-year-old Rodney Alexander in reference to shooting another man during an argument over college football teams. The incident happened Monday, November 13, 2017 at approximately 7:23 p.m. when police responded to Extenda Suites, 33 East I-65 Service Road South, for a report of one shot.

The victim, a Auburn fan, stated he was arguing with another male subject about which college team is better, Alabama or Auburn. The male subject, an Alabama fan, got mad, pulled out a firearm and struck the victim in the thigh and fled.

Alexander is charged with first-degree assault due to the bullet striking the victim's artery causing him to undergo surgery.
