Mobile Police Arrest a Bank Robbery Suspect

On March 1, 2012 at 1:38 p.m. Mobile Police Department responded to the Regions Bank located at 7158 Cottage Hill Road for a report of a robbery. During the investigation, detectives determined that 45 year-old Elbert Lewis Carter entered the bank while armed with a handgun and demanded money from the teller. After receiving money, Carter left the bank running east on Cottage Hill Road.

Detectives identified Elbert Carter as a suspect and located him in the area of St. Stephens Road and Wilson Avenue in Mobile. Elbert Carter was arrested and charged with Robbery First Degree.
