Mobile Police Arrest a Robbery and Assault Suspect

On Thursday May 5, 2011, at approximately 8:25 p.m. an unknown black male suspect entered the BP gas station located 2909 Springhill Avenue while armed with a rifle and demanded money from the cash register.
The suspect began shooting the victim multiple times and then fled the scene on foot with money and cigarettes.
The victim was transported to the USA Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening wounds.
On May 12, 2011 at approximately 11:15 a.m. while investigating an unrelated incident in the 100 block of Union Avenue, officers made contact with 20 year old Roderick Anthony Ware. Detectives have determined that Ware is responsible for the robbery and shooting of the store employee. Roderick Ware has been arrested and charged with Robbery First Degree and Assault First Degree.
