Mobile Police Arrest Bank Robbery Subject

On Monday, August 03, 2015, at approximately 12:15 p.m. officers responded to Iberia Bank 15 W I-65 Service Road for a report of Bank Robbery. The victim stated arrested person, 57 year old Brent Cox, entered the bank armed with a handgun and demanded cash. After receiving the cash Cox left the bank on foot. A witness advised officers he saw Cox enter a dark green two-door vehicle traveling westbound on Dauphin Street.

At approximately 12:28 p.m. officers spotted and attempted to stop the vehicle. Cox stopped, backed up and struck an Officer's vehicle and fled. After a brief vehicle pursue Cox exited his vehicle and ran into a wooded area. As officers were attempting to arrest Cox he inflicted a cut to his neck. Cox was transported to local hospital where he received medical treatment for his injuries. Cox is arrested and charged with Robbery First Degree. Additional charges are pending.
