Mobile Police Arrest Craigslist Robbery Suspect

On Saturday, July 16, 2011, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Mobile Robbery detectives responded to a call of a robbery involving two victims. The suspects in this robbery set up an advertisement on Craiglist web site to sell a flat screen television. When the victims met the suspects near Scottsdale Drive and Scottsdale Court to purchase the television, the suspects produced a gun and demanded property. The victims gave the subjects a backpack of work tools and left the scene.

During the course of the investigation, 17 year-old Gerard Pruitt was identified as one of the suspects in this case. On July 19, 2011, at approximately 7:15 p.m., members of the Robbery and Intelligence Units set up a sting operation and apprehended Pruitt without incident.

Pruitt was transported to Mobile Metro Jail and charged with Robbery First Degree. An investigation is ongoing in regards to the identity of the second suspect.
