Mobile Police Department, LifeSouth Honor Officer Chad Wynne with Blood Drives

Mar 8th, 2012

Mobile Police Department and LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will host two blood drives in honor of Officer Chad Wynne who was shot last week when he responded to a robbery in progress.

The first drive will take place on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Buffalo Wild Wings at 6341 Airport Boulevard from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Each donor will receive a $10 gift card to the restaurant once they have completed their donation.

The second drive will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Mobile Police Headquarters at 2460 Government Street from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mobile Police Chief Micheal Williams stated he believes these two drives will serve as a significant way to honor Officer Wynne. "These drives will have positive effects in our community, possibly saving lives of Mobilians. I cannot think of a more proper way to honor a police officer."

"Our donors here in Mobile help us to be prepared for any emergency, that's why blood was there when Officer Wynne needed it," said LifeSouth Coastal Alabama District Director Keith Manwaring. "Donors coming to this blood drive will help us stay ready, and with the recent weather difficulties we've faced across the state and schools heading into spring break, we certainly need donors every day to keep up with the demand."
