Mobile Police Department to Issue Positive Enforcement Citations

Apr 20th, 2018

Mobile police officers aren’t just out chasing crime, they are also in pursuit to recognize and reward citizens who are helping the department achieve its mission of making Mobile the safest city in America with respect for everyone. Effective today (April 20, 2018), officers patrolling their beats will begin issuing positive enforcement citations to the citizens.

There are five reasons for receiving a positive enforcement citation. And, a token is given as a sweet way for police to say thank you. Police will look for citizens caught doing a random act of kindness, practicing safe driving in the city, being a positive role model, making their community a better place, and making their community a cleaner place. However, citizens should be advised that police won’t be conducting traffic stops to give a positive enforcement citation.

Along with the positive enforcement citation, a token for a free frosty redeemable at any Wendy’s location will be given to each citizen. Wendy’s is the first company sponsor of the program.

Other businesses interested in partnering with the Mobile Police Department to promote this program should call Officer Gary Owens, MPD Community Services Unit, at 251-208-1938.
