MOBILE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO SWEAR IN 31 NEW OFFICERS

April 22 marks the end of 14 weeks of rigorous training and testing and the beginning of a gratifying career for 31 people. Chief Phillip Garrett will swear in new Mobile Police Officers at 2 p.m. at Bishop State Community College's Baker-Gaines Central Campus. Ambassador J. Gary Cooper will serve as keynote speaker.

As a Regional Training Facility, the Mobile Police Academy also trains and certifies officers from other agencies who are seeking to meet the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC) requirements. Thirteen such officers will also participate in the graduation ceremonies.
