Mobile Police Department to Swear in New Officers

July 5, 2011 will mark the end of 14 weeks of rigorous training and testing as well as the beginning of a new career for 17 Mobile Police and 14 regional officers. The graduation of the Mobile Police Academy Class #46 will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Bishop State Community College, Baker Gaines Central Campus located at 1365 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. U. S. Marshall Charles Andrews will serve as the keynote speaker.

As the Regional Training Facility, the Mobile Police Academy also trains and certifies officers from other agencies who are seeking to meet the Alabama Peace Officers Standards of Training Commission (APOSTC) requirements. These 14 officers will also participate in the graduation ceremonies.
