Mobile Police Investigate a Homicide in Crawford Park - Update

On December 9, 2011 at 6:45 a.m., Mobile Police responded to a call to Crawford Park near the northwest portion of Magnolia Cemetery for suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased adult male whose body had been set on fire.

The investigation revealed the deceased is 39 year-old Montdrakgo Demtrius Caldwell of Mobile.

An autopsy revealed Caldwell died as the result of a gunshot wound to the head before being dowsed with an accelerant and set on fire. Investigators later recovered Caldwell's vehicle and cellular telephone in Prichard.
