Mobile Police Investigate a Homicide on Brussels Street

On July 9, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. Mobile Police responded to Rotterdam Court for a report of a man shot. Upon the officer's arrival, they found a 22 year old man with a gunshot wound, and he was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. While police were investigating this incident, they discovered a second victim on Brussels Street with multiple gunshot wounds. The second victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Preliminary finding of the investigation reveal that the deceased victim has been identified as 33 year old Michael Hazewood, and the two shooting are related.

On July 10, 2010 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Darious Thomas was arrested at a residence on Farnell Drive and charged with the murder of Michael Hazewood, and the attempt murder of the 22 year old male victim.
