Mobile Police Investigate a Homicide on Murray Heights Drive South

On Tuesday June 8, 2010 at approximately 8:00 PM, Mobile Police responded to the 7400 block of Murray Heights Drive South for a report of a house fire with two people found inside of the residence. A female was pronounced dead on the scene and a 58 year old man was transported to the hospital with smoke related injuries.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. Preliminary finding of the investigation reveal that the female has been identified as 56 year old Deborah Burton. She was found burned inside of the residence, and an autopsy will determine the cause of death. The man was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition.
