Mobile Police Investigate a Homicide on St. Madar Street

On January 1, 2012 at 12:47 p.m. Mobile Police responded to the 1100 block of St. Madar Street for a report of a male that had been shot. Officers found 36 year old Darryl Maurice Koins with an apparent gunshot wound to his leg. Koins was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

Detectives have determined that Darryl Koins was involved in a dispute with a man known to Koins when shots were fired. After investigating the incident and presenting the evidence to the District Attorneys Office, the case will be presented to a Grand Jury for consideration.
