Mobile Police Investigate a Traffic Fatality on Zeigler Circle West

On October 16, 2010 at 10:15 a.m. officers responded to a report of two people struck by a vehicle in the 600 block of Zeigler Circle West. Upon the officer's arrival, they found a child and an adult struck by a Toyota Camry. The child was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center by Life Flight with what was considered life threatening injuries, and the adult was transported by ambulance with non life threatening injuries.
Mobile Police were notified on October 17th that the child had died from his injuries.
The preliminary results of the investigation reveal that the 50 year old driver of the Camry struck the two pedestrians and two parked cars on Zeigler Circle West. The deceased male has been identified as eight year old Tyler Autry of Mobile and the 38 adult was the mother of the deceased victim. Neither alcohol nor speed is considered contributing factors in the wreck.
