Mobile Police Investigate Battleship Parkway Traffic Fatality

On March 24, 2015, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Mobile Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Battleship Parkway near Interstate 10.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2002 GMC Tahoe was eastbound on Battleship Parkway when the driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed over the grass median and struck a westbound 2005 Pontiac Bonneville. Both driver and passenger of the Tahoe were transported to a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the Bonneville, 51 year-old Jill Matthews Terrell of Fairhope, was also transported to a local hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.

Medical distress may have been a contributing factor to the crash. Mobile Police will continue the investigation.
