Mobile Police Investigate Florida Street Double Homicide

On Thursday, December 4, 2014, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Mobile Police responded to a report of two people down inside of Vaughn Photography at 24 North Florida Street. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered both victims had suffered from gunshot wounds. Daniel Herbert Vaughn, 43 years old of Mobile and his mother, 67 year-old Rosa Vaughn McGahagin of Spanish Fort, were pronounced deceased on scene.

Through the investigation, 56 year-old Terry Walton of Pensacola was identified as the suspect. It was determined Vaughn and Walton were known to each other.

The investigation revealed Walton returned to his residence in Pensacola after the incident. As Escambia County Deputies were at his residence attempting to make contact with him, Walton shot himself, causing his death.

This case is cleared with the death of the suspect.
