Mobile Police Investigate Homicide on Adams Street - Update

On November 26, 2011 at 8:10 p.m., Mobile Police responded to a report of one shot at 1108 Adams Street.  They arrived on scene to find the victim, 44 year-old Mark Ash, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.  He was transported to U.S.A. Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Through the course of the investigation, Deantonio Gibson, 20, and Javier Dixon, 18, were identified as suspects.  On December 16, 2011, Javier Dixon was detained and questioned in which he confessed to his involvement.  Marcus Smith was also identified as being involved with the robbery and murder.

On December 24, 2011 at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers observed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle that Gibson was known to occupy.  Officers stopped the vehicle containing Gibson and Smith. 

Arrested subjects: 
Deantonio Gibson, 06/22/91, for Murder and Robbery First Degree. 

Marcus Smith, 02/05/94 for Murder and Robbery First Degree.
