Mobile Police Investigate Kidnapping In the 1300 Block of Driftwood Drive

On Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at approximately 3:48 p.m. the suspect, 48 year old Steven King, allegedly entered the victim, a 25 year old female, residence in the 1300 block of Driftwood. Once inside King armed himself with a handgun and demanded cash from the victim. King also demanded a cell phone from another female victim inside the residence before she was able to escape.

King then took the victim and her three children at gunpoint and left the location in the victim's vehicle. A short time later King released all three children unharmed in the 200 block of Wasson Avenue, Prichard, AL.

Through investigation detectives located the victim and King in the 3300 block of West Main Street Prichard, AL. After a brief struggle King was taken into custody. At the time of his arrest King was in possession of a 9mm handgun. King was interviewed, charged with Robbery 1st X2, Kidnapping 1st, Kidnapping 2nd X3, Certain Person Forbidden to Possess a Firearm, Rape 1st, and Sodomy 1st, and transported to Mobile County Metro Jail.
