Mobile Police Make Arrest on Dauphin Street Homicide

On December 2, 2012 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Mobile Police responded to the Taco Bell at 3246 Dauphin Street for a report of one shot. Upon arrival, officers found 22 year-old Jamal Marquis Little in his vehicle with gunshot wounds. Little was pronounced dead on the scene.
On January 5, 2013, Mobile Police located the suspect, 34 year-old Grady Russ McClendon at his residence at the 10000 block of Sweetwater Road South in Chunchula. For approximately three hours, McClendon barricaded himself and a female inside the residence and refused to be taken into custody. Tactical units were able to make entry after shots were fired by McClendon and take him into custody with no further incident and with no injuries to police, the suspect or the female victim. McClendon is charged with Murder and Person Forbidden to Possess a Firearm.
