Mobile Police Make Arrests, Issue Order Against Residential Drug, Gambling Den

On December 5, 2014, Mobile Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1300 block of Juniper Street.

A Temporary Restraining Order was also filed against the owner of the home, which has been a decades-long issue for police due to drug activity, gambling and prostitution taking place at the residence. This year, Mobile Police have conducted operations and made a total of 11 drug purchases from people in the home and on the property. Police also have video evidence of illegal gambling activity.

"In February, we had complaints [from neighbors] that this house was involved in illegal drug activity, gambling and prostitution," said Captain John Barber, whose Narcotics Unit led the operation.

As a result of the search, gambling proceeds were seized from inside the residence and the following subjects were arrested:

John Webb (DOB: 6/23/1964)
- Promoting Gambling
- Distribution of Controlled Substance (Opana)

All of these subjects were arrested for Simple Gambling:
