Mobile Police Remind the Public to Lock Their Vehicle Doors

Sep 26th, 2013

The Mobile Police Department wants to remind Mobile area residents to lock your vehicle each and every time you exit and leave, whether at home, work or in any parking lot.

Most vehicle burglaries and removal of articles from a vehicle are crimes of opportunity. Subjects either check door handles or notice vehicle doors are unlocked and use that chance to take items from the car or steal the car itself. By locking your doors each and every time you leave your vehicle, you greatly reduced the likelihood that your vehicle or your personal possessions will be stolen.

Remember to store valuable items out of plain view in your vehicle so criminals are not tempted to break in. Also, be certain to always report vehicle crimes to Mobile Police.

Should you have knowledge of a vehicle burglary or need to report a theft, please call the Mobile Police Department at (251) 208-7211.
