Mobile Police Results of Citywide Crime Sweep (update)

The Mobile Police Department has completed the first month of its ongoing street crime sweep. In this initiative to fight city-wide violent crime in Mobile, police have made contact with 679 people resulting in 525 misdemeanors and 150 felony arrest. Police have also been able to seize the following items during the first month of operations.

• Guns — 24

• Currency Seizure — $24,463.00

• Vehicles Seized — 10
Total Vehicle Values Combined - $24,000.00

• Drug Seizures:
Cocaine — 3.9 ounces (street value $5,070.00)
Crack Cocaine — 6.42 ounces (street value $8,346.00)
Marijuana — 21.11 pounds (street value $94,995.00)
Methamphetamine — 4.8 ounces (street value $ 7,200.00)
Xanax — 24 pills (street value $120.00)
Total Street Value of Drugs = $115,731.00)
