Mobile Police to Begin Installation of new Nextdoor “Neighborhood Watch” Signs

Jun 2nd, 2015

In an effort to continue the thriving success of Mobile Police Department's partnership with Nextdoor via their website, iPhone and Android applications, Mobile Police, with the assistance of the City of Mobile Traffic Engineering Department, will began installing new Nextdoor "Neighborhood Watch" signs in neighborhoods currently using the program.

An example of this installation will take place on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the intersection of Navco and Venetia Roads in the River Park community. Members of the River Park Community Action Group (CAG) have been invited to participate in today's installation alongside members of the Mobile Police Department who will be on hand to discuss the success of the program.

Since announcing the Department's partnership with the program in August 2014, almost 10,000 members in Mobile have joined. Nextdoor is the free and private social network for neighborhoods. On Nextdoor, neighbors create private websites for their neighborhoods where they can ask questions, get to know one another and exchange local advice and recommendations.
