MPD plans to raise its visibility through Coffee with a Cop

Sep 24th, 2019

The Mobile Police Department is raising its visibility to reach citizens across the city through Coffee with a Cop. There are no agendas and no speeches, just an opportunity for members of the community to stop by and talk with police officers about issues on their minds.

By continuously rotating the Coffee with a Cop events throughout all five precincts, the goal is to create a casual atmosphere making it easier to have a conversation with law enforcement.

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, all across the country law enforcement agencies will celebrate National Coffee with a Cop Day. The day began as part of National Community Policing Week in 2016 and now continues each year on the first Wednesday in October furthering efforts to bridge the gap between the community and the law.

The Mobile Police Department will host its National Coffee with a Cop Day at Government Plaza, 205 Government Street, from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Hill & Brooks Coffees and Teas is the beverage sponsor.
