MPD to Receive Donation of Stuffed Animal Toys

Mobile Police Department will receive a donation of more than 250 stuffed animal toys from the National Honor Society students at Meadowlake Elementary School. The generous donation will be made Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. at the school.

According to teacher Kelly Schreiner, the students chose the stuffed animal toy as their donation because it is something police can give to children who are scared.

In the course of their work, police come into contact with children usually during the worst times such as a bad car accident or a case of domestic violence. Distributed to patrol officers, the stuffed animal toys will be used as a comfort item for children.

Meadowlake Elementary School is located at 8251 Three Notch Road. The donation of the stuffed animal toys to the Mobile Police Department is the students' service project.
