On Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at approximately 3:35 p.m., police responded to the 5400 block of Gaillard Drive in reference to the report of a death. Upon arrival, the male victim was found down inside of his residence deceased. The victim appeared to have been shot, which is believed to have been the cause of death.
The victim, identified as 39-year-old Matthew Wiser, was a professor at the University of South Alabama. He was discovered by the USA PD while doing a welfare check on the victim.
This is an active investigation.
