$5,000 Reward Offered for Information in Murder of USA Professor

Mobile Police is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for the murder of Matthew Wiser, a professor at the University of South Alabama.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at approximately 3:35 p.m., police responded to the 5400 block of Gaillard Drive in reference to the report of a death. Upon arrival, 39-year-old Matthew Wiser was found inside of his residence deceased. Wiser appeared to have been shot, which is believed to have been the cause of death. He was discovered by the USA PD while doing a welfare check on the victim.

UPDATE 12/13/19: On December 13, 2019, Mobile Police made two arrests in the case. Tiquez Timmons, 20, and Derric Scott, 20, were found connected to the shooting death of Matthew Wiser. Both are charged with murder.

UPDATE 2/17/20: On February 17, 2020, Mobile Police make another arrest in the murder investigation of Matthew Wiser. Curtis Anthony Womack Jr., 23, is the third suspect found connected to Wiser's death. Womack is charged with murder. He is also charged with possession of marijuana second degree on an unrelated case.
