ASSAULT SUSPECT CAPTURED

On June 13, 2007, at approximately 10:10 p.m. Richard Jay McGuire, Joshua Fauver, and Joshua Hickam entered the Bicycle Shop located on Dauphin Street. Once inside, the trio was asked to leave by the bartender when they were observed inhaling 3M Dust Cleaner. Instead of leaving the bar as asked, they severely beat the bartender and he almost bled to death before paramedics arrived. Richard Jay McGuire and Joshua Fauver were found guilty of Assault Second Degree.

On September 25, 2008, Richard Jay McGuire and Joshua Fauver were in court for a sentencing hearing. The judge sentenced Fauver to five (5) years to be served in prison. After hearing Fauver's sentenced, McGuire walked out of the courtroom and away from justice before his sentencing took place. Several attempts were made to locate McGuire, but all proved to be unsuccessful.

On Friday October 31, 2008, at approximately 11:00 a.m. officers surrounded McGuire's residence before attempting to serve the warrant. McGuire attempted to flee the residence through a window, but officers waiting outside prevented the escape. McGuire was arrested inside the residence moments later in a bedroom.
