BURGLARY SUSPECT APPREHENDED

On Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at approximately 11:00 A.M. Mobile Police responded to a burglary in progress complaint in the 6400 block of Bellwood Drive West. Upon arrival, officers located suspect William Rotter (W/M, 8/8/88) hiding inside of a closet at the location.
The officers secured Rotter and had him transported to the First Precinct where he was interviewed by investigators. Detectives had previously been investigating numerous reports of residential and vehicle burglaries that had occurred in the Bellwood Drive area over the time span dating back to January of 2008.
Upon interviewing Rotter, it was revealed that he was involved in the commission of numerous residential and vehicle burglaries that had occurred over the previous year.
Investigators were able to retrieve approximately $5,500 dollars worth of stolen merchandise from Rotter's residence and are constantly working to uncover details of any other crimes Rotter may be associated with.
Rotter was subsequently charged with 6 counts of Burglary Third Degree and transported to Metro Jail.
