ESCAPEE CAPTURED BY MOBILE POLICE

Mobile, Ala. — Christopher Shane Gordon, 22, a known criminal from the Mobile area escaped from Childersburg Community Work Center near Birmingham at approximately 11 p.m. Wednesday, May 6. Thursday morning at approximately 9 a.m., an officer from the Fifth Precinct observed a van bearing the word "Childersburg" in the Theodore area and made a traffic stop. Christopher Gordon was driving the vehicle and was arrested without incident. He was transported to Metro Jail and is charged with Receiving Stolen Property First Degree. Gordon has an extensive criminal history in the Mobile area including arrests for Receiving Stolen Property First Degree, Receiving Stolen Property Second Degree, Unlawful Breaking and Entering, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was transferred to the Childersburg facility in March.
