FURNISHING ALCOHOL TO MINORS

On January 15, 2009, Mobile Police Department continued its fight against underage drinking by conducting another Underage Drinking Compliance Check. This is the First for the year. This time, fourteen businesses were checked and twelve of them were in compliance with the law.

The businesses in compliance were:

MQ Food Mart, 1861 Government Street

Rite Aid # 7184, 1971 Government Street

Com-Pac Food Store # 523, 2150 Old Shell Road

A & R Food Mart, 2781 Government Street

BP Merri Mart #313, 2810 Government Street

Circle K # 8248, 3026 Cottage Hill Road

Dauphin Street Shell, 3000 Dauphin Street

Rite Aid #7117, 3055 Dauphin Street

Texaco Food Mart, 3000 Old Shell Road

Circle K #6760, 3251 Dauphin Street

TES Convenience Store, 2957 Old Shell Road

On & On Food Mart #2, 2551 Old Shell Road

The businesses Not in compliance were:

Food World # 334, 3170 Dauphin Street

A-Z Package Store, 3214 Dauphin Street

Employees at each of the businesses were not in compliance and did not check the underage buyer's identification. Warrants were signed against these employees for Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor. These compliance checks will continue as the Department strives for all businesses to comply with the law.
