On Monday, December 9, 2024, at approximately 10:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 800 block of Charles Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered gunfire originated from a vehicle that traveled towards Gayle Street. While still on Charles Street, officers heard additional gunfire in that general direction. Officers drove a short distance and discovered a vehicle had wrecked into a pole in the 1100 block of Gayle Street.
A juvenile male victim was found deceased near the vehicle after being struck by gunfire.
