On Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at approximately 4:15 a.m. officers responded to Shotgun Willies, 2605 Halls Mill Road, in reference to a report of a 40-year-old male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The incident was determined to be a homicide.
Jeremy Scott Smith, the victim, worked as a security guard at Shotgun Willies.
Homicide investigators connected Dewayne Wheat (DOB 9/25/81) to the incident. Wheat is charged with murder.
