On July 9, 2021, at approximately 10:21 a.m., Mobile Police officers responded to Avalon Apartments, 3600 Michael Boulevard in reference to one shot. Upon arrival, they discovered 24-year-old female Jasmine Pettway suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased on the scene. This is an active homicide investigation.

Update
The Mobile Police Department reports that Darrin Sanders, Jr., 23, has been charged and arrested with Domestic Violence and Murder in connection to the incident at Avalon Apartments on July 9th.
