HOMICIDE ON BROAD STREET (UPDATE)

On April 28, 2009 at approximately 3:34 A.M., Mobile Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of North Broad Street near the intersection of Old Shell Road. Officers canvassed the area and were able to locate a victim identified as fifty year old Clarence Howard. Howard was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of Zollie Sanders Wheel Alignment Shop located at 54 North Broad Street. The male victim was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries. Homicide Investigators responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.

On May 6, 2009 at approximately 10:50 PM thirty-nine year old Charlotte Weaver was arrested and charged in the shooting death of Clarence Howard. The investigation has revealed that the victim was known by Weaver and the shooting occurred after an argument. Charlotte Weaver was arrested and charged with Murder.

The investigation will continue to determine if any other suspects were involved.
