HOMICIDE ON BROAD STREET (UPDATE)

On April 28, 2009 at approximately 3:34 A.M., Mobile Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of North Broad Street near the intersection of Old Shell Road. Officers canvassed the area and were able to locate a victim only identified at this time as a black male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of Zollie Sanders Wheel Alignment Shop located at 54 North Broad Street. The male victim was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Homicide Investigators responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. The investigation remains continuous at this time. Further elements regarding information pertaining to this case will be disseminated as it becomes available.
